We Knew Him Before the Title...
There’s a photo somewhere from one of our earlier charity events.
Nothing fancy. No stage, no spotlight. Just a slightly chaotic setup, people moving boxes around, someone asking where the banners went.
And in the middle of it, Dr. Kent Woo, sleeves rolled up, doing the least “doctor-like” thing you can imagine.
Carrying stuff. Talking to everyone. Making sure things actually get done.
That’s how we’ve always known him.
So when we heard he was conferred a title by the Sultan, our first reaction wasn’t shock.
It was more like…
“Yeah, that makes sense.”
Because long before any recognition, he’s been doing the work.
In the clinic, he’s known for pioneering allergy and immunology treatments — helping people who’ve spent years not knowing why they feel the way they do. The kind of impact that doesn’t trend online, but quietly changes someone’s everyday life.
But what most people don’t see is everything outside of that.
The charity events. The support. The willingness to just show up, not as a guest of honour, but as someone who’s part of the team.
And if you’ve been around us long enough, you’ll know there’s another constant presence too — his wife, Datin Stephanie Teong.
While running her own architecture firm (which already sounds like a full-time challenge on its own), she somehow finds the time and energy to be deeply involved in everything we do. Planning, organising, fixing things before they become problems — often without anyone even noticing.
If Dr. Kent Woo is the calm driver, she’s the one making sure the whole journey actually works.
Together, they’re… efficient, in the best way.
No noise, no need for attention. Just consistent, real support.
Which is probably why this title feels less like a “big moment” to us — and more like a quiet acknowledgement of something that’s been happening for a very long time.
Because the truth is,
we’ve known him before the title.
And if anything,
we know that nothing’s going to change after it.
He’ll still show up.
Still do the work.
Still be exactly the same person.
Just with a slightly longer name now.
CONGRATULATIONS TO
Professor Dato’ Dr Kent Woo & Datin Stephanie Teong
